Molybdenum powder for plasma spray coating
POLEMA JSC mastered the production of the MP-Mo99.8 molybdenum powder for plasma spray coating technology. Powder fractions are as follows: 20-63 μm, 40-80 μm, 40-100 μm, 80-160 μm.
Properties of plasma coating
The molybdenum coating offers excellent physical and mechanical properties, i.e. perfect bonding (from 12.0 MPa to 30.0 Mpa depending on the coated surface material), density of 8.2 – 9.4 g/m3, hardness of 25-34 HRC. The coating ensures good resistance in acid mediums, good wear, abrasion and peeling resistance and anti-friction properties, proved under extreme conditions and heavy loads. The coatings also ensure good resistance to the arc erosion, do not denature in acid mediums and in the air up to the temperature of 340 ºC. The preferable plasma-generating gases ensuring the Mo powder coatings good quality are H2, Ar, Ar+H2, Ar+He. As well the coatings are widely used as precoats and surface coats of aviation engines, pumps and pumping equipment, on piston rings, gearbox synchronizer rings, gearings, cams and for valves consolidation purposes etc.
